The heart is an amazing muscle....... A delicate balance between mechanical and electrical systems keeping our blood flowing and our brain fed. But when the rhythm is off the body can't dance and sing. I've had experience with heart issues, been there with my best friend of 19 years Greg through multiple surgeries.... The pain, the confusion, the uncertainty, the trial and error to find the right combination of medications to allow the heart to run like a well oiled machine.
Today this truth hit us full force as we watched the screen monitoring dads vitals rapidly fluctuate as the therapists tried to get him to sit up and move...... Heart rate shot up and blood pressure sky rocketed as his body tried to adjust to this new/old experience.... They say things take time, but waiting is the hardest part... But now we must wait for the increased dose of heart medicine to do its job and get his rhythm back...
