Growing up in Southern CA, we were obviously Dodger fans... The love of the team (not always the ownership) ran deep in both sides of our family.. One of the highlights to watching the game was the always vibrant and knowledgable commentary from the long time sportscaster Vin Scully... He has been a staple for 63 years, the longest tenure of any broadcaster with a single team in professional sports history.. Both of my Grandfathers and my father are/were huge fans, listening to the games was an important staple in our history.. I can remember going to games with dad as a kid, enjoying the Dodger dogs and peanuts.... And singing "take me out to the ball game" during the seventh inning stretch......
Today however that memory took on a whole new meaning... Arriving all the way from LA was a personalized signed baseball from the great Vin Scully to dad, wishing him a speedy recovery... YES, you read that right a authentic Dodger baseball signed by Vin Scully to my dad!!!! The smile on his face, and the "way cool" comment is something we will never forget... A HUGE thank you to my brother in law Mike for making that happen!!!!! Putting a smile on dads face, a twinkle in his eye and making his day!!
"It's time for Dodger Baseball"...
Thank you Vin Scully
That's awesome!
